When you visit us for one of our tasting experiences, you will be delighted by your experience. We incorporate olive and wine pairings into our tastings; we want you to experience how the two flavour profiles can boost and lift each other into something truly exquisite. Since we are located near both Morris Wines and John Gehrig Wines, we have many fine wine and cordial options; we are also licensed and sell local beers from a nearby microbrewery.
Step out of the city life and feel welcomed into the country life experience. At Gooramadda Olives, we take you back to real gourmet, home-style country cooking with our produce. As soon as you arrive, we're ready to talk about recipes, quality, and why our products are the very best for eating healthy and eating well. Settle in, sit back, and enjoy the spectacular countryside view while you savour a glass of wine and a perfectly paired cheese platter.

Onsite Shop – The Olivery

The best way to discover what makes Gooramadda Olives special is a visit to the onsite shop. Open Saturday and Sunday, weekday visits can be happily accommodated if you phone ahead. Even before entering the store time should be taken to survey the Murray flood plains from the elevated vantage point of the store. Also check out the various sculptures around the car park. There is sufficient room for a caravan to be turned around in front of the store should this be necessary.

The Tasting

A visit to the Olivery is a chance to not just sample the products but to discover so much more about the produce. Learn what is involved in producing oil and table olives. Discover what is the difference between extra virgin olive oil and plain olive oil. Being in a world famous wine region means that you have the chance to discover which wines go best with which olives and possibly even get to try out some of the combinations with local wines.
One of the most important things you will gain from a visit to the Olivery is the inspiration to best utilise the products you choose to buy. Our word of advice whenever tasting anything is not to buy what you love the flavour of but instead buy what you can see yourself using a lot. We will provide you with a wealth of ideas on how to use the products. It may just be something simple such as a different way of serving olives or it may be inspiration to alter the way you cook.

Within 5 Minutes Drive

For the time poor visitor Gooramadda Olives is in a prime location. Within minutes of our on site store are a number of significant attractions. Our next door neighbour is John Gehrig Wines whilst just around the corner is Morris Wines – two winemaking families that have been producing wine for over 150 years. If scenery is more your thing then a visit to Mt Ochtertyre is well worth while. Major Mitchell climbed to the top of Mt Ochtertyre to survey the surrounding countryside in 1836. If a picnic is what you are after nothing could be better than to set up on the banks of the Murray in nearby Lions Park. We will be more than happy to give you directions when you visit the Olivery.
